Packaging

Artwork is packed carefully to avoid damage caused by shipping. This requires the use of a great deal of packing materials, and pieces are generally packed and shipped individually. Should you receive an item damaged in shipping, please call Karak Trading Company immediately at 1-416-264-2983 or e-mail us at info@inu-art.com and arrangements will be made.

Shipping Charges

Items can be shipped in a variety of ways, ranging from regular surface mail, through expedited and ExpressPost, to priority courier. When placing your order, please include your complete shipping address and e-mail and phone numbers so that shipping costs can be calculated and confirmed with you. Customers will be responsible for 're-shipping' charges for incorrect/incomplete delivery addresses supplied to us.

Taxes

There is no tax charged on items shipped outside Canada. Within Canada, 7% GST is added and within Ontario, 8% PST is also charged. The purchaser is responsible for any taxes charged at the destination.

Customs

There is no customs duty charged on original artwork being shipped into the USA. Residents of other countries please enquire by e-mail.

Important Import Restrictions

Some countries do not allow the importation of some animal materials like bone and ivory. While walrus ivory is legal in Canada, most countries do not distinguish between walrus and elephant ivory. Fossilized whalebone (which is at least 300 years old!) is not usually banned but, because it is difficult to distinguish from newer bone, it becomes much more complicated and time consuming to obtain the required documentation and approvals. We will gladly hold a piece on reserve for you for a reasonable length of time and will assist you in obtaining documentation from the source. We recommend you check with your local customs officials before ordering these items. Once you have received approval and the item is shipped, Karak Trading Company accepts no responsibility for items seized or returned by your country's customs officials.
